Women of WWII a Contest and Show and Tell!

April 6th meeting:

WOMEN OF WWII -
NOT JUST ROSIE THE RIVETER.
Steering Committee member Vicki will discuss the various military and assistance groups at home and abroad, with some hints for research.

Put on some big band jazz and bop your way back to the 1940s! We will have a contest for best 1940's costume. Come dressed as a Soldier, ace pilot, in a zoot suit, as Rosie the Rivetoer, a Noir Detective, or a Pin up Girl! Be creative, and show us what you've got!

Google "1940s" then click "images" for ideas.

We will also have Show and Tell! We want to see your favorite 1940 family picture or piece of memorabilia. Such as Steering Committee member Terri who would bring a cool set of pictures of her uncles who served in WWII or her father-in-law who served on a submarine. I think I have a picture of my grandmother dressed up for work. She helped build airplanes while the guys were at war!

We can't wait to see you there!
